The neighbourhood of Whitehorn was developed in 1973.  It sits in the northeastern corner of Calgary, Alberta, Canada on land that was annexed to the city in 1961. The northern border is McKnight Blvd; the east is edged by 52nd St E and the west by 36th St E. The south is framed by 32n Ave N. Whitehorn has its own C-Train LRT station.

Whitehorn is part of Ward 5 for representation on the city council. Most homes remain single family detached structures with about 23 percent being in the rental pool. Whitlow Park is located in the northern end of the neighbourhood with open green space extending down the center of Whitehorn, all the way to the southern edge.

Schools in the area include Colonel J Fred Scott Elementary, Chief Justice Milvain Elementary and Annie Gale Junior High, all part of the Calgary Public Schools. The Catholic St. Wilfrid Elementary is also available. The Peter Lougheed Centre is just southwest of Whitehorn. Sunridge Mall and the Spectrum Shopping Centre are to the southwest. Golfers can tee off at the Silverwings Golf Course, just north of the community.
