West Springs Real Estate

A newer community in the Calgary, Alberta area, West Springs was annexed in 1995 to the City of Calgary. It was established as a community in 2001. It is located in the southwest area of Calgary. Its western border is composed of the Springbank housing development. The eastern boundary is 69th Street West and the southern border is represented by Bow Trail. The neighbourhood’s north border is the Cougar Ridge housing community, Old Banff Coach Road and the Canada Olympic Park.

Only five years after its establishment, West Springs’ population registered 5,309 in 2006. In 2000, the earliest year for which information is available, the neighbourhood’s household income averaged $88,328. All homes in West Springs are single-family houses, and approximately six percent of them are used as rental dwellings. In 2009, the average home sold for $800,482.

Students in West Springs may attend elementary school at Glenbrook or Glamorgan, junior high at A. E. Cross and high school at Ernest Manning. Private schools include Glamorgan’s St. Andrew Elementary, Glendale Meadows’ St. Gregory Elementary and as well as St. Mary's High School in downtown Calgary or Bishop Carroll High School.
