Part of a building boom that happened during the 1970s, Temple sits in the north eastern section of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It sits on land that was annexed to the city back in 1961 but the community wasn’t developed until 1977. The centerpiece is an open green space called Templegreen Park, located in the centre of the community. The area is part of Ward 5 on the City of Calgary City Council.

The northern border is McKnight Blvd, the south is framed by 32nd Ave N and the east by 68th St. E. The west is framed by 52nd St. E. The urbanized area is filled with mostly single family properties, with only a bit more than five percent being apartments or condos. About 23 percent of the housing is in the rental pool.

Schools in the area include the public Guy Weadick Elementary and Annie Foot Elementary. Catholic schools include the St. Thomas More Elementary and the Father Scollen Elementary/Junior High. Sunridge Mall and Spectrum Shopping Centre are both to the southwest. The Calgary International Airport is about three kilometres to the northwest, along with Deerfoot Mall.
