Signal Hill Real Estate
Signal Hill is a neighbourhood in the western part of Calgary, Alberta. It lies at the centre of the Broadcast Hill and to the west of the Sarcee Trail. Its south border is a hill that is a portion of Battalion Park. The park commemorates four Army battalions that trained at the location during World War I. The land on which Signal Hill was developed was annexed in 1956, and the neighbourhood was established in the year 1986.
Signal Hill Homes and Condos For Sale
Residential development initiated in 1990. Approximately 79 percent of the homes are single-family dwellings. The average sale price of a single-family home in 2009 was $606,758, and the average sale price of a condominium unit was $317,233. Some four percent of Signal Hill’s homes are used for rental purposes. Median household income as of 2000 was $83,764, and as of 2006, the community had a population of 14,076.
Three elementary schools, Battalion Park, Glenbrook and Glamorgan, serve children in grades K-6. St. Thomas Aquinas is a private elementary school. Private junior high and high schools include St. Gregory and St. Francis, respectively.
