The land that is now the Castleridge neighborhood in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, was once the Municipal District of Rocky View. In 1961 the land was transferred to the City of Calgary, but Castleridge was not developed until 1980. It is Ward 3 as far as representation in Calgary’s City Council.

Castleridge  sits just east of the Calgary International Airport. The neighbourhood’s northern boundary is 64th Avenue NE. Castleridge Blvd NE curves along the western edge, framing part of the southern border as it goes. Falconridge Blvd NE forms the eastern border. It also curves, but this time towards the west, meeting up with Castleridge Blvd. NE. The result is a neighborhood with a triangular shape.

All but about eight percent of the housing is single family properties, with about 75 percent of all homes being owner occupied. Baitun Nur, Canada’s largest mosque opened its doors in Castleridge in 2008. Prairie Winds Park is just outside the western border, offering outdoor ice skating and a spray park, both seasonal. Schools include the O.S. Geiger Elementary and John Paul II School.
